Up at 845am....not a lot of sleep, but than again after so much coffee last night at Shari's ....I'll get some more later. Off to get my day on, eats and Starbucks....more writing.

Fog finally lifted. Was really foggy lots in the morning.
Mac is a 'got all you need town' -low key, nice gals, nice bbw redhead at McD's - said I was working on my pics. We looked at each other a lot...quite nice gal...jeans and shirt.....I pretty much could sense that living here would be good.
282 miles on the car so far...still have a 1/4 tank since leaving Kenmore the day before.

Writing at a Starbuck's here in Mac...sure does take it's time to do it.
Going downtown....the historical part of it. It's south of the more modern north end.
My left foot feels a lot better...I have that plantar fasciitis thing going on. Suspect it will plague me for trip. So taking it easy with it.
Linfield College looks easterly ivy.
Maybe do dinner soon.
Downtown is really nice. Lots of brick, character.
703pm....I think I will continue on my trip rather staying another night here.
So it's getting dark.....traveling south on Hwy 99.
Coming up on Amity....run down.... it's 724pm ....and I'm in a Monty Python Holy Grail town wondering who is their king.
753pm....in Salem...west side...taking the ramp down (221), from Hwy 22.
I'm about 45 minutes from Mac. Would guess people from Mac drive here for work.
Lots of wineries in these hills and foothills on the way here between Amity and the 221 turn-off. It's a mountain area on both sides. More nightlife here.
Just outside of Amity it looked like a big fire....lots of smoke ...dark...up high west of highway.
Down the ramp I came into a business district....and the sign says: Salem or Independence. I took Salem....what was I thinking?!!!
Saw a number of busty BBW in Mac...remembering now how hot that was.

So in Salem is a BIGGGGGGGGGGG shopping center area.
Earlier stopped in a McD in West Salem....that's what I had dropped into taking the 221 ramp. A sign had said Mac was 25 miles away...not bad for a drive if one lived in Mac.
I'd say a lot of people come here for fun.
Got gas here at Portor's across from McD's at Taggert and Wallace. Big place. Fill up, 9.1 gal, 2.59/gal, 23.69. Miles to this point: 321.7 (Kenmore, WA to here)
A bit of housing here, but not much else...well it's dark so hard to tell really.

Kmart by the Salem Airport.
940pm....crossed I-5 going east.
Came across the High Priestess Tattoo shop in a mall area. "Time" is the name of a nearby gas station. There's Senior Citizen parking at the Shopko.
10:06 pm - stopped at a Shari's to eat....at Lancaster Dr SE and 22.
I had done a bit of driving around in West Salem, Salem and across I-5.
1222pm - left Shari's to find a place to sleep.
On hwy 22 the max fine for littering is $6250.
Just before the Shaw Hwy overpass....running on across Hwy 22 is a railroad track on both sides with crossing signals....Say What???? This is what happens when Vern doesn't do the mail.
Sign: Golf Club Rd / DMV
1240am - took the exit for Stayton.
As you drive into Stayton you see a Ace Hardware sign "We Got Firearms Ammo"...and next door is the Stayton Animal Supply shop with a sign that says: "Pet Pictures Sign Up Now". So you look back at the Ace Hardware sign...the other side...and it says "Summer Clearance All Outdoor Furniture 25% Off".....so I'm thinking "Shoot The Dog" could have easily been on that animal supply shop sign.
Down further is Hope Investments. Further on...this jewel: "For Sale Bike to Rent"......and I'm thinking...'Oh great....I had to choose this town for a place to sleep'!
There is a power canal that runs through town...water it it, swift current....good place to throw the dog in.
You can really see the stars in the sky here.
Near some factory there is this sign: "Tomatoes and We Have Veggies" and I'm thinking 'Ain't these veggies?'....'Nah, totally different.'
Crashed about 130am behind the AM/PM store after asking the store manager there (off Whitney).
